Two men accidentally drowned in separate incidents reported in Moldova on Sunday, IPN learned from the Emergencies Service.
The first case involved a 44-year-old man who went for a swim and disappeared in a pond located near the village of Chistelnita, Telenesti district. It took the Service rescue divers several hours to fish the body out.
The other man, 57, drowned in the Prut River near Bisericani, Glodeni, after apparently hitting his head.
The Emergencies Service is warning the public to avoid swimming in places not properly fit for leisure activities as there is an increased risk of running into underwater obstacles.
Since the beginning of the year, 85 people, including 14 minors, drowned accidentally in bodies of water across Moldova.
