Two men die in Sunday fires
Two men, aged 61 and 68, died on Sunday, March 1, in separate fire events, Info-Prim Neo reports.
While in the first case the cause of the fire remains uncertain, the second fire was most likely caused by reckless smoking indoors, the Civil Protection Service said.
The same day, a woman from Scoreni, Straseni district, was hospitalized with burns covering 60 percent of her body. Experts assume the fire was caused because the woman had ignored elementary fire safety rules in using the heating stove.
Also on Sunday, a woman driving a Renault car along Odessa-Chernivtsi roadway lost control over the car and struck a tree. She was rushed to a hospital after being pulled out of the wrecked car by a rescue crew.
According to the Civil Protection Service, 367 fires occurred from the beginning of the year, which claimed 63 lives.
