The Theoretical Lyceum “Truseni” and the Theoretical Lyceum “Durlesti” of Chisinau municipality are to be reorganized into secondary schools owing to the absence of tenth-twelfth graders. A decision to this effect was taken by the Chisinau Municipal Council on September 22, IPN reports.
The head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said the education institution of Truseni is attended by 234 students and the school’s block is 42.5% used as its capacity is of 500 students. The number of students during the last few years has considerably decreased. The lyceum hasn’t had tenth-twelfth grades since the 2013-2014 school year because there are no students of such grades. As regards the lyceum of Durlesti, this has nine classes with a total number of 229 students. It also hasn’t had tenth-twelfth grades since 2013, for the same reason.
As a result of debates, the draft decision on the reorganization was passed by a simple majority of votes of the attending councilors.
