Two labour inspectors suspected of taking bribe
Two inspectors employed at the Chisinau Labour Inspectorate were detained by the officers of the Fraud Investigation Division of the Interior Ministry, on suspicion of bribery, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the press unit of the Interior Ministry, the inspectors extorted 1500 lei from the manager of “Bijuliux” Ltd for not imposing fines for the violations of legislation traced at this firm.
On May 4, one of the suspects was caught red-handed in his office while he was receiving the second part of money – 700 lei.
The inspectors’ actions fall under the Article 324 of the Penal Code of Moldova. They risk facing a fine ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 conventional units or imprisonment terms from 5 to 10 years, depriving them of the right to hold certain positions for 2 to 5 years.
The Police traced 34 cases of bribery from the beginning of this year.
