Two people were killed and one suffered burns in a house fire in Sverdiac village of Rascani district in the morning of December 14. Careless smoking is one of the examined causes.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan said the firemen were called at about 10am. When on the scene, they established that more than half of the house was on fire. There were found the carbonized bodies of two men. One of them was the owner of the house aged 39, while the other one was a friend of his aged 62.

Witnesses said the third man, aged 21, seeing the fire, tried to enter the house to see if there was anyone inside and suffered burns. He was rushed to the hospital.

The causes and circumstances of the fire are to be found out by experts of the anti-fire lab.
