A woman aged 85 from Crasnaseni village of Telenesti district perished in a fire in her house. A fire in Radeni, Straseni, killed a 64-year-old man, while a woman from Chisinau had to jump out of her burning apartment in order to save herself, IPN reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the firemen extinguished the fire in Crasnaseni in about two hours. They took a gas cylinder out of the house as it could explode. The fire was allegedly the result of improper use of the stove.
In Radeni the fire broke out in a summer kitchen and the source is not yet known.
According to the Chisinau Emergency Medicine Institute, a 51-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with a head injury and a forearm fracture that she sustained when a fire started in her apartment and she had to jump out of the second floor.
The firefighters warn the population that the violation of the anti-fire rules can lead to fires with fatal consequences. The 244 fires that happened in Moldova so far this year resulted in 36 deaths.
