A serious road accident occurred on the M-5 Balti-Edinet route on Thursday morning. A car collided with a bus running on the Chisinau - Kiev route. The male driver of the car died on the spot, while the female passenger died in the ambulance, IPN reports.

An extrication team was called out. According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, rescuers carried out works to take out the two persons who got stuck inside the crushed vehicle. The 74-year-old man was taken out dead, while the 69-year-old woman was still alive, but unconscious.

The woman was handed over to a medical crew that arrived at the scene. Shortly afterward, the doctors ascertained her death.

The 19 passengers who were on the bus weren’t hurt.
