Two men aged 54 and 63 died in a road accident at the intersection with the road going to Maramonovca village of Drochia district in the evening of April 20. The two were coming from Donduseni. The vehicle by which the two travelled skidded off the road and overturned.
Senior state auto inspector of the Drochia Patrolling Inspectorate Marcel Cimbriciuc has told IPN that the preliminary investigations showed the car was speeding. The wet road was another factor that contributed to the accident. The passenger perished on the spot, while the driver died in the hospital shortly afterward.
The eight accidents that happened on the national roads on April 20 and on the night of April 21 resulted in two deaths and 15 persons hurt.
