Two children have died in a home fire in Chisinau’s suburban town of Gratiesti on Monday night. According the press unit of the Department for Emergencies, the accident took place at around 11:00 pm in the household of the Candu family. Two boys, 7 and 9, were sleeping in a house that caught fire from the heating stove. Vitalie and Adrian were looked after only by their father; their mother had left abroad in search for a job. When the fire broke out, the father was overwhelmed by a panic attack and ran out of the burning house. A few moments later, his children were past help as the flames engulfed the house. Since the beginning of the year, fires caused by faulty heating stoves took the lives of 12 persons, including 2 children. Faulty heaters and flues generated 83 fires.
