Two judges have been detained following searches carried out today. The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office told that one judge is from the Chisinau Court of Appeal and the other from the Chisinau District Court.
“Prosecutors are yet to decide whether preventive arrest will be sought. At this moment, searches are underway, and we will be back with further details”, a spokesperson for the Office said.
The Superior Council of the Judiciary today formally consented to prosecution measures against four judges. One judge is suspected of influence peddling and passive corruption. Two other judges are suspected of influence peddling and complicity in influence peddling, respectively. The fourth judge is suspected of active corruption.
