Two jaywalkers die
Two men died on Monday because of crossing the streets in a reckless manner and another two are seriously injured after they were hit by cars.
Inspector of Traffic Security Service of the Chisinau Traffic Police Ion Roscovanu told Info-Prim Neo that all four victims of the road accidents are pedestrians. Thus, at 5.00 pm, a woman aged almost 55 was deadly hit by a Mercedes car on Cuza Voda Blvd.
Another dramatic case has happened at 9.00 on Chisinau–Balti route, near Stauceni village. Two men were crossing the road when they were hit by an Opel-Vectra car. As a result, one of the victims aged 47, native of Stauceni village, died on the spot and the second person of the same age, local of Tomai village, Leova raion, was hospitalized in the rehabilitation section of the Emergency Hospital with very serious injuries.
A 24-year-old young girl was hospitalized in the same section. She was hit by an Audi A-6 car, then by a Moskvici-2140, at the intersection of Alecu Russo and Ginta Latina streets. The victim suffered brain injury and mental shock.
During the previous day the police officers have reported road accidents, which resulted in two dead persons and two injured, as well 20 accidents without victims. The policemen have traced 13 intoxicated drivers, 72 speedings, 28 persons performing wrong maneuvers, 5 cases generating situation of accidents and 9 persons driving without papers.
