Two injured in road accidents on Friday
Two men were injured on Friday in road accidents in Chisinau.
Road Safety Inspector of the Chisinau Traffic Police told Info-Prim Neo, that the first accident took place in the afternoon on the main street of the suburban town of Durlesti. A Mercedes-280, driven by a 36-year old man and a Mercedes-208 minibus, driven by a man of 46, collided at an intersection. The driver of the car suffered head trauma and was hospitalized.
At around 7 PM, on Costiujeni Street a Dacia-Logan, driven by a 42-year old man, ran into a pedestrian, 44, who was jaywalking while heavily drunk. The victim was admitted to the Emergency Hospital with head trauma.
On Friday, traffic agents fined 296 drivers, including 37 for ignoring traffic lights, 10 for driving with their seatbelts off and 11 for drunk-driving. Another 15 victimless accidents took place on Friday.
