The Customs Service said two hovercraft customs posts, “Cosauti” and “Soroca”, were closed on a temporary basis following the rise in the level of water in the Nistru River, IPN reports.
Those who planned to cross the border through these customs posts are recommended to choose the customs post “Otaci” that is situated nearby.
The State Hydrometeorological Service said the volume of water discharged from the Dnestrovsc accumulation lake since March 13 was increased to 450 m3/s. As a result, the level of water in the Nistru on the section between Naslavcea village of Ocnita district and Hrusca, Tiraspol, rose by 0.6 – 1.4 meters. After the volume of water discharged from the Dubasari accumulation lake was increased to 250 m3/s, the level of water also rose on the portion between Dubasari and Grigoriopol towns, by 0.3 meters.
In the Prut River, on the section between Criva village of Briceni district and Costesti village of Rascani district, the level of water grew by 0.2 – 0.5 meters, while on the section from Costesti to Branesti village of Rascani district by 0.2 meters.
