A special selection commission has proposed two candidacies to be considered by Parliament for the post of People’s Advocate. Ceslav Panico and Alexandru Zubco are the finalists of a selection process that involved five other candidates in the interview phase.
“There has been a great round of interviews, with interesting and sometimes provocative questions. Most candidates performed well or very well during their interviews, and we congratulate them on this. We hope that regardless of who is eventually appointed, the others will contribute to the consolidation of the Ombudsman’s Office, either directly or indirectly”, said Legal Commission chair Olesea Stamate.
The candidate who gets the most votes in Parliament will be appointed to the post.
The office fell vacant after the predecessor, Natalia Moloșag, resigned last December.
