Two ferry border crossing points stop work

The ferry border crossing points “Cosăuți-Iampoli” and “Soroca-Tsekinovka” were closed on a temporary basis in the morning of May 22 following the rise in the level of water in the Nistru River, IPN reports, with reference to the Customs Service.

In such conditions, the travelers are urged to cross the border through the road frontier post Otaci-Moghileov-Podolsk that is situated nearby.

Andrei Antonevici, the director of Moldova’s Water Agency, has told IPN that the level of water increased both in the Nistru and in the Prut and the Răut owing to the rain that fell recently in the Carpathian Mountains. There are now no reasons for concern about floods.
