A 23-year-old man and a man aged 62 died when the cars they were driving collided head-on on the regional road Ungheni – Cetireni – Alexeevca. It happened when one of the drivers lost control of the vehicle and this changed lanes.

Contacted by IPN for details, senior press officer of the Ungheni Police Inspectorate Cristina Vicol said the driver aged 23 from Ungheni district was traveling from Cetireni village to Ungheni. At a certain moment, he lost control of the car. The vehicle collided head-on with another car coming from the opposite direction. The 62-year-old driver of this was also from Ungheni district.

As a result of the collision, the older driver died on the spot. The younger driver was rushed to the Ungheni District Postal with multiple injuries and died there shortly afterward.

An investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the road accident.
