Acting mayor general of Chisinau municipality Silvia Radu on November 30 signed an order to dismiss Oleg Poiata from the post of head of the General Public Transport and Communications Division and Alexandru Fleas from the post of head of the Education, Youth and Sport Division, IPN reports, with reference to a press release of the Chisinau City Hall.

The General Public Transport and Communications Division will be managed by deputy head Vitalie Butucel on an interim basis, while the Education, Youth and Sport Division by deputy head Viorica Negrei. A public contest will be soon announced to fill the two posts.

Silvia Radu said she decided to fire Oleg Poiata after she ascertained defective management that causes damage to the whole administration. The Division hasn’t yet signed a contract for public road maintenance for 2018 and didn’t fulfill a series of duties, such as to mark the streets, to set up the required traffic signs, to make preparations for winter and to repair the seriously damaged roads. Severe irregularities were identified in the management of public transport.

As to Alexandru Fleas, defective management was determined in the education system of Chisinau municipality. The recent cases, especially the irregularities in the process of feeding children of Kindergarten No. 157 and the misdeeds at “M. Eminescu” Lyceum, are very serious. It was established that even if the repair works executed at this lyceum were of a poor quality, the payments for them were made in an unjustified way. The acting mayor general intends to file a complaint over the unjustified payment of such works and irresponsible spending of public funds so that the competent authorities investigate this case from penal viewpoint.
