Two persons died after developing influenza-related complications. Vice director of the National Public Health Center Stefan Gheorghita has told IPN that these are a man and a woman who didn’t got flu vaccines and who went to see a doctor too late, IPN reports.
The 27-year-old man from Balti municipality concomitantly suffered from bilateral pneumonia. “He sought medical assistance too late, after self-medication. When his state of health worsened, he was admitted to the Municipal Clinical Hospital, in the intensive care section. He died the day he was hospitalized, January 5,” stated Stefan Gheorghita.
He added that the woman was aged 26. She was hospitalized in Cahul with pneumonia, heart failure and AH3N2. She started to feel ill on December 28, was hospitalized on January 2 and died one day later.
The National Public Health Center recommends to immediately see a doctor when the first symptoms of disease appear, to avoid contact with persons exposed to an increased risk of infection, to use respiratory masks and to wash the hands with soap and disinfectants.
