Two Chisinau divisions managed by acting heads
Adrian Boldurescu will head the Public Transport and Communications Division on an interim basis, while Radu Blaj is the new acting head of the Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations Division, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The post of head of the Public Transport and Communications Division became vacant after Veaceslav Tarna reached retirement age two weeks ago and tendered his resignation, invoking personal reasons. Earlier, Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said he will dismiss Veaceslav Tarna for the violations committed when repairing the Chisinau street Alba Iulia, but could not do it as the latter was on sick leave.
In the other case, Vlad Modarca was discharged by Dorin Chirtoaca a week ago. Reaching the retirement age was among the reported reasons. The mayor said there were also other reasons, but refused to name them.
Under the law, the Chisinau Municipal Council is to announce a contest to fill the two vacancies and to select candidates.
Last week, the leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu presented in Parliament a bill that gives the mayor general of Chisinau the exclusive right to name and dismiss division heads. The Liberal-Democrat MPs voted against including the bill in the agenda.
