Two children killed in fire last week
Three persons including two children died in a fire in a village in Stefan Voda district last week.
According to the Firefighters and Rescuers Division, the children aged 2 and 5 choked to death with fumes in a house in Slobozia village in Stefan Voda district. The mother left the children at home alone and went away. At about 3:00pm, a relative of the family saw smoke coming out of the house and forced the door open. But it was too late to save the children. During investigations, it was established that the children played with matches and set the house on fire.
Another two kids left without supervision received burns of second and third degree after playing with the fire. The fire occurred in a house in Parlita village, Soroca district. The twins were rushed to the hospital.
The Firefighters and Rescuers Service warns the people not the let the children without supervision because parents’ negligence most of the times leads to tragic consequences.
According to official accounts, a number of 2,021 fires happened in Moldova since the start of thus year. They claimed 126 lives, including of eight children.
