Two children hurt in traffic accidents
Two children from Chisinau’s suburbs have been hospitalized after being injured in road accidents.
Eufalia Negreata, doctor coordinator at the Chisinau Emergency Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that both children were struck by vehicles. One of them, a 10-year-old boy whose identity hasn’t been established yet due to his unconsciousness, was hit in Hrusova village by a Ford car. The driver rushed the boy to the infirmary in Vadul lui Voda town, from where he was transported to the Mother & Child Center in Chisinau. The boy suffered severe head trauma and multiple injuries, including of internal organs, which caused him to fall into coma.
Another boy, also aged 10, was struck by a Hyundai car in the suburban commune of Tohatin, suffering fractures of knee bones.
Three suicide attempts were recorded on Thursday, involving two young women, aged 20 and 21. One tried to kill herself by taking an overdose of pills, while the second by cutting her veins. The third person feeling suicidal was a 41-year-old man who jumped from the third floor of a residential block. He suffered spinal and internal organ contusions, being transported to the Emergency Hospital in traumatic shock.
A 37-year-old man was beaten by unknown assaulters around 5:00 p.m. on Sarmizegetusa Street, being hospitalized for wound treatment.
On Thursday, the Chisinau Emergency Service responded to 702 calls, involving 69 cases of trauma, 48 cases of acute viral diseases, 24 childbirths, 7 brain strokes, and 37 cases of mumps.
