Two minors aged 10 and 11 drowned in a pond in Goian village of Chisinau municipality in the afternoon of July 14, IPN reports.
According to the latest reports, the children went to swim accompanied by their father, but entered the water without him. It seems that they were left unsupervised as the man went away from the bank.
The assistance of rescuers wasn’t necessary. The bodies of the children were taken out by witnesses to the tragedy.
Rescuers repeatedly warn the population that swimming can be dangerous and recommend the parents to permanently supervise the children.
As many as 13 minors have drowned in Moldova’s rivers and lakes so far this year.
