Two brothers, aged 39 and 40, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They are investigated in two cases, which took place last year. The information was presented on Wednesday, October 16, at a press conference, organized by the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases, IPN reports.
According to PCCOCS, the first attempted murder occurred on February 28, 2018, in the evening, near an apartment bloc on Botanica Veche street in the capital. At that time, unknown persons fired multiple shots from an automatic weapon in the direction of a Mercedes model car. A 46-year-old man was behind the wheel. Wounded, he was rushed to the hospital in serious condition. He survived.
The second attempted murder took place in November 2018. A local from Stoianovca village, Cantemir district, was lured into the street. When the victim refused, the suspect entered the yard and fired seven shots in his direction. The man was admitted to the district hospital, in serious condition. In this case the victim also survived. The person who ordered the murder turned out to be the victim's business partner.
Two brothers, inhabitants of Chisinau municipality, are suspected of committing the two murder attempts. Criminal prosecution and special investigative measures are being carried out in order to establish all the persons involved.
If convicted, the brothers could face up to 15 to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
