Two police officers of the Balti police commissariat were arrested for possessing and distributing drugs, Info-Prim Neo reports. Iurie Maximov, deputy head of the Ministry of the Interior's Internal Security and Investigations Division, told a news conference on May 5 that the police officers employed a drug distribution scheme. They hid illegal drugs in the personal belongings of people and then asked bribe from them for not holding them accountable. According to Iurie Maximov, a bag with marijuana was found in the car of the police officers during a search. Illegal drugs were also found at the house of one of the policemen. No other details were made public.
