The manager of the Cahul branch of the Comrat driving school and his accomplice were arrested on suspicion that they asked for and received €600 for organizing the issuing of a driver’s license. The suspects are investigated for traffic of influence and face up to six years in jail or a fine of at most 200,000 lei, IPN reports.

According to the National Anticorruption Center, the two were denounced by a young man who attended the driving school.

The manager promised the denouncer that he can influence members of the examination commission of the Cahul Transport Registration and Driver Qualification Section to positively assess his knowledge and issue him with a driver’s license of category “B”. The manager was caught in the act of receiving the second tranche of €300. The second suspect was arrested later.
