Three people were killed and three others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on R-20 road between Step-Soci and Chiperceni in Orhei district on Saturday, the local police reported.

According to preliminary information, a 53-year-old man, driving a Renault that held a 30-year-old woman and three children as passengers, apparently failed to adapt the speed to the wet tarmac conditions in a curve, resulting in the car skidding into incoming traffic and hitting a Lexus head-on.

As a result of the impact, the driver, the woman and a 13-year-old boy in the Renault died immediately. Two other children, 3 and 8, and a female passenger in the Lexus were rushed to the district hospital with various injuries.
