Twenty-two NGOs to benefit from small grants

The Ministry of Education and Youth has made public the results of the small grants contest. Twenty-two nongovernmental organizations from 15 settlements will receive financing to implement community projects with a budget of up to 30,000 lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. The results of the contest were published on the Ministry’s website. The project aims to ensure young people’s access to equitable informal education services, multilateral development and recreation opportunities. The winners were selected according to such criteria as: the project’s impact on the community, the extent to which it can meet the local needs, the involvement and contribution of the community, etc. For example, the Youth Council of the Chisinau Theoretical High School “Natalia Dadiani” intends to develop the school museum and to publish the institution’s almanac. Another selected NGO, the Criuleni-based “Integration of the Woman and Child in the Civil Society”, in concert with the youth-friendly Health Center ”Vitamin” will carry out activities to inform the young people about the prevention of HIV/AIDS and other dangerous diseases. The Balti public organization “For Electronic Development” will devise a portal for disseminating information about the programs, seminars and forums of youth organizations. Six of the chosen NGOs are from Chisinau, while two from Balti.
