Twenty trolleybuses outfitted with air conditioning systems will be assembled in the course of this year. The parts for the first five trolleybuses that will also have an autonomous drive system will be delivered from Minsk to Chisinau at the end of this month.

Technical director of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company Gennady Zadesenets has told IPN that the assembly works are expected to last for a month. In the middle of August, the five battery-powered trolleybuses with air conditioning systems will start to run on the streets of the municipality.

As to the equipping of the trolleybuses used now with air conditioning, as the municipal councilor Ion Ceban suggested, Gennady Zadesenets said the situation here is more difficult as the structure of the unit of transport needs to be modified. They are now considering this possibility with the Minsk plant and other companies.

The 20 trolleybuses outfitted with air conditioning systems cost the municipality 72 million lei.
