Twenty-seven persons to compete for post of BCC member

Twenty-seven persons, six of whom women, have filed applications to fill the three vacant posts of member of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC), deputy head of the parliamentary commission for culture, research, youth, sport and mass media Corina Fusu has told Info-Prim Neo. She avoided giving names, invoking ethical reasons. According to Corina Fusu, the commission is to decide when the contest that is usually public will take place. In order to be examined by Parliament, the candidates must obtain at least seven votes from the members of the commission for culture, research, youth, sport and mass media and of the legal commission for appointments and immunities. The candidates are confirmed to posts by the legislative body by a simple majority of votes. The deadline for applications was March 12. It was extended three times. The Broadcasting Coordination Council is composed of nine members who are appointed by Parliament. The tree posts were vacated by Camelia Albu, Valeriu Soltan and Ruslan Plesca as their terms in office expired. They cannot apply for the posts for a second consecutive term.
