The Ciocana branch of the Chisinau Court extended the house arrest for ex-President Igor Dodon for 20 more days, IPN reports.
The prosecutors are not satisfied with the decision. They asked to extend the house arrest for 30 days and to impose a number of restrictions on him. For their part, the lawyers said that any preventive measure against the ex-President should be excluded.
Igor Dodon was charged with passive corruption, acceptance of financing for the party by a criminal organization, treason and unjust enrichment. The politician denies any wrongdoing and says that the case is political in character.
Igor Dodon is also accused in the “Energocom” case that was sent to court for examination.
