Twelve candidates taking Baccalaureate exam banished from examination hall

Twelve students who couldn’t resist the temptation to copy in the first Baccalaureate exam were forced to leave the examination hall. The students were checked with metal detectors and mobile phones were found on them, IPN reports.

Anatol Topala, director of the Quality Assurance Agency, told a news conference that the students who tried to copy were spotted through the surveillance cameras set up in the examination halls.

The exams in all the Baccalaureate centers generally took place without incidents. Anatol Topala underlined that unlike other years, the students and the teachers in this year’s session showed honesty and readiness for exams.

The students caught cheating will not be able to take other exams this session. They will sit the exams next summer.

On June 3, 4,348 students speaking other languages than Romanian took the first Baccalaureate exam, in the Romanian language and literature, at 68 Baccalaureate centers situated all over the country.
