TVR regrets BCC’s decision to offer the frequency it used to another channel
The Romanian Television Corporation (SRTV) expresses its regret with the decision of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) to offer the frequency used to re-broadcast TVR1 programmes in Moldova to another channel.
SRTV said in a communiqué that TVR and the Romanian Government made all the necessary steps in order to continue the broadcast and to conclude a new agreement with the Moldova’s Radiocommunication Agency.
At the time of the decision, SRTV was up to date with all its financial obligations and it still owned the license no.014557, valid from 2006 through 2011. In this connection, SRTV addressed a protest note to BCC against the decision to annul the broadcasting license and to put up for contest the channel which relays the programmes of TVR1 in Moldova air. The Corporation is now looking for alternatives to continue the broadcast in Moldova, the communiqué reads.
Yesterday BCC granted license for the use of the state-owned channel no.2, which currently relays the programmes of TVR1, to the recently founded TV channel “2 Plus”.
