Turkish investors are interested in the Moldovan market

The Turkish investors are interested in the Moldovan market, Ilhami Kaplan, the head of a business delegation stated at a meeting with Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Anatol Spivacenco. The meeting was organised in order to encourage business partnership in areas of mutual interest. The discussions focused on such issues as implementation of advanced technology in producing vegetables on protected farm areas, agrifood processing, exports to international markets, government support in encouraging investments. Ilhami Kaplan suggested setting up a Moldova-Turkish working group that would promote experience exchange. The Turkish investors intend to establish agrifood enterprises on Moldova’s territory thanks to the high-quality soil in our country. Spivacenco said that for Moldova agriculture is the pillar of the national economy, given that agriculture represents an income source for some 40 percent of the country’s population. He informed the delegation about the impact of this year’s extreme weather conditions on agriculture, highlighting the necessity of attracting investment projects and diversifying the sales markets. The deputy minister remarked that Turkey and Moldova should take full advantage of all the cooperation opportunities.
