The Rehabilitation Center of the Mother and Child Institute will be renovated within a project implemented by the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency TIKA. The Agency intends to repair the roof and walls, to replace the windows and doors and to renovate the bathrooms with hydromassage tubs. The project was presented officially on June 1, IPN reports.

In a press release, TIKA says the project to repair the Rehabilitation Center is to be implemented during 100 days. The Agency plans to outfit the Center with all the necessary equipment.

Attending the official launch of the project, Minister of Health Ruxanda Glavan said the experience and knowledge accumulated by Turkey in this field are very important for Moldova. She expressed her conviction that the projects aimed at developing the human resources will bring significant benefits.

No extensive repair works were performed at the Rehabilitation Center of the Mother and Child Institute since this started work in 1981. The Center provides ambulatory and stationary treatment to patients, including physiotherapy, chemotherapy and acupuncture. About 15,000 people from all over Moldova receive treatment at the Center annually.
