Turkey donates 70,000 Sinovac vaccine doses to Moldova

Turkey on September 29 donated 70,000 Sinovac vaccine doses against COVID-19 to the Republic of Moldova. The consignment will be distributed to all the settlements in the country, including the Transnistrian region and ATU Gagauzia, IPN reports.

Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco said the initiative belongs to Turkey, but the Moldovan authorities supported it as many Moldovans want to be vaccinated namely with Sinovac.

The minister noted that Turkey also donated COVID-19 protective equipment for frontline personnel, namely 10,000 gowns, gloves and disinfectants. Ala Nemerenco called on the people to get vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2, but to consult a doctor before this so as to choose the suitable vaccine.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Moldova Halil Gürol Sökmensüer said the donation of 70,000 Sinovac vaccine doses is a confirmation of the support offered to the Republic of Moldova in different areas. Turkey is ready to help the Republic of Moldova so as to develop the friendly relations between the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Vladislv Kulminski noted that the vaccine doses offered by Turkey will save many human lives. “COVID-19 does not have borders. It is important to fight together against the virus and to save lives,” he stated.
