Tuition fees at universities increased
One month before the start of the new academic year, the tuition fees at universities rose by 4.3%, the rent for apartments by 1.1%, while interstate train fares by 4.6%, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the National Bureau of Statistics.
The price of pork grew by 3.7%, of beef and vodka by 1.8% each, of cow cheese by 1.7%.
The prices of cucumbers and watermelons in August decreased by 13.7%, of potatoes by 11.6%, of eggplants by 18.1%, of onion by 13.2%, of carrots and beef by 25.0% each, of grapes by 4.7%, of plums and peaches by 6.1% each.
The prices of most of the nonfood products and services remained unchanged. Fuel grew dearer by 2.3%, including bottled liquefied petroleum gas by 10.3%, tobacco products by 2.0%, the stationery by 1.8%, the building materials and jewels made from precious metals by 1.3% each.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the consumer price index in August was 99.9% on July and 109.2% on August 2010. The consumer prices rose by 4.8% from last December.
