Tudor Gheorghe and “3 Sud Est” band to perform on national holiday in Chisinau

Singers from Romania will take part in this year national holiday “Limba Noastra” (Our Language). The artistic programme will start at 7.30pm with a folk music show of Romanian singer Tudor Gheorghe, followed by an entertaining programme with the participation of Moldovan performers. The Romanian band “3 Sud Est” will perform on the stage in the Great National Assembly Square starting from 10.30pm. Director of the Department for Culture, Leonid Gorceac, announced last week that only performers from Moldova would take part in the festive concert, specifying that the Romanian singers were asking for 1,5 – 7 thousand euro for performance, and this year budget stipulated for the organization of “Limba Noastra” holiday is of 120 thousand lei. On the other hand, Leonid Gorceac stated on August 20 within the operative meeting at Chisinau City Hall that the necessary amount for contracting Romanian singers, as well as for organizing the concert with the participation of the local stars “is within the financial limits set up for the holiday’s organisation”. For all that, director of the Accounting and Economic Analysis Department of the City Hall, Eugenia Ciumac, says that the sum stipulated for organizing the festive concert is “exaggerated”. “Over 31 thousand lei will be paid only for 11 hours of sonority, which is enormous for me especially that the programme will not last for so long”, Eugenia Ciumac mentioned. This year, the holiday “Limba Noastra” will be organised by the Chisinau City Hall. The festivities dedicated to the Republic’s Day on August 27 will be organised with the active involvement of the Ministry for Culture and Tourism.
