Tudor Deliu about PDM’s decision not to run for President

Tudor Deliu, who is the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova’s candidate for President, considers the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) does not have an appropriate candidate who could compete in the November 1, 2020 presidential elections. The politician referred to the Democratic leader Pavel Filip’s announcement that the PDM will not contend for the office of President, IPN reports.

“The decisions are taken by them and I cannot pronounce on the decisions of a party. The Democratic Party of Moldova chose its path in these elections. I don’t want to comment on Mister Filip’s statements. I appreciate this party’s decision and this is an internal decision assumed by them,” Tudor Deliu stated in the talk show “Emphasis on Today” on TVR Moldova channel.

As to Pavel Filip’s assertion that the struggle in the upcoming elections will be given between two candidates, while the other candidates are wasting the resources, Tudor Deliu said everyone has the right to vote, to elect and be elected.

“I don’t believe something like this. I don’t want to be Vanga, as some try to be, and predict that we will have only two potential candidates in the upcoming elections. The voters will have a say in the electoral period,” stated the ex-president of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova.

Tudor Deliu was nominated for President by the National Political Council of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova following consultations with the local organizations on August 28, 2020.
