Trucks with Moldovan fruits and vegetables stopped at Russian customs
Tens of trucks laden with vegetables and fruits from Moldova have been stopped at the Russian customs checkpoint in Bryansk. The information was confirmed to Info-Prim Neo by Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov.
According to the Minister, the customs officers claim they don’t have the necessary equipment to check the trucks so the cargo is unloaded for manual checking. However, the Minister is skeptical about the explanation. “I think there's something else behind this”.
He said that he would meet with a delegation of the Rosselkhoznadzor (Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) in Chisinau today, November 14. The Minister is confident he will agree with the Russian representatives to allow the Moldovan goods to pass.
The Bryansk customs terminal was opened in October after lengthy negotiations between Moldova and Russia.
