The truck driver involved in this morning’s accident in Măgdăcești was detained. The information was confirmed for IPN by a spokesperson for the Criuleni Police Inspectorate.

The truck driver was detained for 72 hours. It is believed that he was responsible for the accident, which also involved a passenger minibus. As result, 16 people were injured, including two minors.

According to the Police, the minibus on the Drăsliceni-Chișinău route was hit on the left rear side by the truck. Towing a trailer, the truck driver is believed to have changed lanes without checking the blind spots.

Tests at the scene showed that neither driver was intoxicated.
