Trophy of “Twin Hearts” festival goes to Ukraine
The trophy of the international festival “Twin Hearts” in the grown-ups section was won by the representative of Ukraine Vadim Kochetkov, who sang the song “Forgive me” by Ion Aldea-Teodorovici. Felicia Dunaf from Moldova became the winner in the children's section with the song “Forgiveness” - words by Grigore Vieru, music by Ion Aldea-Teodorovici, Info-Prim Neo reports.
About 40 singers from 10 countries have taken part in the contest. In the Laureates Gala on November 15, Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca conferred the title of Citizens of Donor of Chisinau on Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici posthumously.
“Until the Romanian nation exists, the music of Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici will live. We thank Doina and Ion for bringing the truth to us in 1989 and helping us move forward. When we feel lost, we any time can listen to a CD with Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici's songs and will feel better,” said the mayor.
Dorin Chirtoaca gave a bouquet of flowers to the winner of the Top Prize in the grown-ups section - the representative of Italy who sang the song “Our house is holy”.
Doina and Ion's son Cristofor Aldea-Teodorovici said he was very glad that his parents became Citizens of Honour of Chisinau. “Bucharest should also award them such a title and we will stage a concert in memory of Doina and Ion in Romania as no such concert was given there after their death,” he said.
The singer together with his band “Teodor-Cristofor” performed for the first time Ion Aldea-Teodorovici's song “I love you”. Among other special invitees of the concert were the laureates of the previous editions, Karisma and Romanian singer Fuego.
Singers Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici died in a road accident on DN 2 highway in October 1992. On November 15, Doina would have turned 52.
