The Top Prize and Trophy of the International Documentary Film Festival “Chronograph”, to the value of €2,500 provided by the International Organization for Migration, went to the film “Cardiopolitics” made by Svetlana Strelnikova from Russia, IPN reports.

The final competition involved 18 documentaries made in 15 countries in the Main Section, 12 films made in five countries in the CadRO Section and nine films made at Moldovan independent studio in the Local Productions Section. Five films were screened in the One LIKE for a Documentary Section, intended for the teenage public.

The documentary “Gabor”, made by Sebastián Alfie from Spain, won the Direction Award of €1,500, which this year was provided by the Chisinau-based Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu”, and the Public Sympathy Award in the Main Section.

The Image Award of 15,000 lei, offered by the Swiss Agency for Development of Cooperation, went to “Crepuscule” by Ukrainian producer Valentyn Vasyanovych.

The German Cultural Center Akzente handed over the Special Jury Prize of 10,000 lei to “The Story of Mister Tenderness” by Dagmar Smržová from the Czech Republic. The film “Dancing in solitude” by Bienei Pilavci from Germany won the special jury mention.

The award in memoriam Victor Bucataru, of 7,000 lei, was given to the Estonian production “PMR – in the state of limbo” by Meelis Muhu and Kristina Norman, which competed in the Main Section.

The cadRO Trophy went to “Malanka of Crasna” by Dmitro Dukolytki-Sobchuk from Ukraine. The Trophy of the Local Productions Section, for the best work, was given to Alina Radu’s film “Elitocid at upper incline”. The winner in the One LIKE for a Documentary Section was “The walls” by Miguel López Beraza from Spain. The Moldovan-Dutch film “Deprived of sea” by Maarten de Kroon won the award in the With the Eyes on Moldova Section.

Organized by OWH Studio, the twelfth International Documentary Film Festival “Chronograph” took place in Chisinau on May 12 – 18.
