The trolleybus line going along Muncesti St in Chisinau will be extended. The 500,000 lei allocated initially for designing a trolleybus line from the City’s Gates to the Airport will be used to design the extension on Muncesti St. The subject was raised in the last meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council, after Communist councilor Valery Pavlov criticized the mayor’s proposal to allocate money for building a trolleybus line to the Airport. According to the councilor, it is enough to put several more buses to run on the Chisinau – Airport section. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said the City’s Gates – Airport section should be repaired and a trolleybus line should be constructed there, but agreed that at this stage the money can be transferred for designing the trolleybus line on Muncesti St. A feasibility study for Dacia Blvd. will be made in parallel. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the head of the Electric Transport Company Gheorghe Morgoci said that the trolleybus line on Muncesti St is being extended up to Burebista St, but may be extended further.
