TRM makes referendum campaign covering principles known

The national public broadcaster “Teleradio Moldova” (TRM) made public the principles of covering the campaign for the September 5 constitutional referendum. The campaign participants can to file applications to put paid-for and free advertisements and to be offered airtime in public debates, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a statement, TRM says it will fairly and impartially cover the campaign for the referendum, will broadcast motivational, civic and voter education programs and commercials free of charge, will inform the participants in the referendum about the voting procedure and other related issues. The referendum campaign participants will have access to gratis and paid-for airtime 48 hours after the submission of relevant applications. Every participant will benefit from 10 minutes of free radio airtime and 5 minutes of free television airtime. The schedule will be published on the TRM's website. The airtime unused through the participants' fault cannot be recovered. The conception of the debates will be made public during three days of the August 5 deadline for registering referendum campaign participants.
