Those who will want to travel by the tourist trolleybus in Chisinau will have to pay 30 lei. This will travel as from August 1. A trip will last for one hour and 20 minutes and audio guides about the most important tourist attractions in the municipality of Chisinau will be transmitted during it in Romanian, Russian and English. A decision to this effect was approved by the municipal councilors on July 22, IPN reports.
According to Roman Vitiuc, the head of the Chisinau City Hall’s General Economy, Trade and Tourism Division, the fare of 30 lei was calculated for a route. Four routes a day will be operated on Saturday and Sunday. As part of a joint project implemented with the Embassy of Ukraine, audio guides in Ukrainian will be made available on the route on particular occasions.
The trolleybus can transport 22 persons on seats. Exemptions from taxes for particular categories haven’t been planned, but free trips will be organized on a number of occasions.
The PAS councilors proposed that the children younger than seven should travel free by this trolleybus, while those under 12 should enjoy a 50% discount, but the amendment was short of votes.
The project “Tourist Trolleybus” is dedicated to the 585th anniversary of the first documentary attestation of Chisinau.
