Zinovia Gasitoi, who is a member of the Democratic Party of Moldova, was elected as mayor of Trifanesti village of Floresti district on May 27, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Central Election Commission, Zinovia Gasitoi polled 400 votes, while the other candidate Victor Slimovschi, who is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party, gained 184 votes. As many as 593 voters of the 1,114 included in the electoral rolls cast their ballots. Nine ballots were invalidated. The post of mayor in Trifanesti fell vacant before term as the mayor elected last June resigned.
