Trifanesti to hold mayoral elections in May
The residents of Trifanesti village of Floresti district will elect their mayor on May 13. Such a decision was taken by the Central Election Commission (CEC), Info-Prim Neo reports.
The mayor of Trifanesti Victor Toma, of the Liberal-Democratic Party, who was elected in the second round of voting on June 19 tendered his resignation.
CEC secretary Andrei Volentir said that the expenditure estimate for the local elections has not been yet agreed as the CEC will implement a pilot project called the Electronic Register of Voters in Floresti. “The budget is now being determined. In about a week, we will have an approximate sum,” he stated.
Two polling places will be set up in the village for the mayoral elections.
