A tree crashed last night over five cars parked on 31 August St in Chisinau, near Vlaicu Parcalab St. Head of the Green Spaces Agency Eliferii Haruta told Info-Prim Neo that while the tree wasn’t old or otherwise hazardous it succumbed to the wind. The damages will be covered by insurance companies. “The responsibility for these damages belongs to nature and insurances, if the cars are insured. This is the citizen’s problem. The tree was green, not rotten”, said the head of the association. According to Eliferii Haruta, many trees fall even when green and sound. This is partly due to the drought and the record-high temperatures of this summer. Eliferii Haruta added that the association received only 20% of funding from the budget and doesn’t manage to all the work. The Agency has been often sued by car owners who claimed damages, but it lost only 2-3% of the cases.
