Travel restrictions for heavy vehicles

The units of transport weighing over 20 tonnes are banned from traveling between 11am and 6pm, when temperatures exceed 30 degrees Celsius. According to a communiqué from the Transport Ministry, the restrictions are aimed at preventing the damaging of roads, IPN reports.

The restrictions do not apply to the passenger transport and vehicles that transport food products and materials for preventing or dealing with emergencies.

Restrictions will be also imposed in connection with rehabilitation and repair works on the following road sections: M1 Chisinau-Leuseni-border with Romania, from the 14th km until the 39th km, and from the 82nd until the 99th km; M2 Chisinau-Soroca-border with Ukraine, between kilometers 6 -71 and 71-154; M3 Chisinau - Cimislia - Vulcanesti – Giurgiulesti – border with Romania, from the 96th km until the 151st km.

Movement will be also restricted on R7 Soroca – Costesti – border with Romani, R12 Donduseni - Drochia - Pelinia-M14, R14 Balti - Sarateni, and M2 Balti- Saratenii Noi.
