The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends the Moldovan citizens to refrain from traveling to the State of Israel and the Middle East region given the current security situation and the increased risk of escalation, IPN reports.
According to the MFA, there are increased security risks in the context of the state of emergency and the state of war declared by the Israeli authorities in October 7, 2023. Although, at the moment, the Israeli authorities maintain the same level of alert, the security situation in the area changes constantly and can change suddenly, without prior warning.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to follow in real time the public communication of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Moldova in Tel Aviv. It is also advisable to consult and comply with the travel recommendations and alerts published on the information resources of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The citizens who are already in the State of Israel are recommended to follow the instructions of the local authorities and to take shelter in buildings and specially designed public spaces in case of air attacks.
The citizens who already purchased plane tickets to fly back to the Republic of Moldova are recommended to contact airlines to check the status of the flight. The Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport operates as usual, but some airlines stopped flights to/from Israel for security reasons.
For additional information and consular assistance, the citizens can also contact the Call Center on 0 80 090 990 – free of charge from the landline in any locality of the Republic of Moldova - and on +373 22 23 20 02.
